What happen when two men full of muscles fought a monster? Isn’t it obvious that muscled men will win especially if they are helped by lovely housewife, part-time alchemist Izumi Curtis.

Puzzled General

That’s what happen in Full Metal Alchemist (FMA) Brotherhood episode 55. In the brink of getting full body attack by Sloth, Izumi helped our handsome Major Louis Armstrong. Our Ice queen, Brigadier General Armstrong was puzzled with sudden appearance of two extremely strong allies.

Roy Mustang vs Edward Elric

While everyone’s been fighting, Roy Mustang argued with our full metal boy. At the same time, Liutenant Hawkeye thanks Scar for helping Roy to realize that revenge will only make him just like him, full of hatred. Somehow Scar’s startled by the thanks given by Hawkeye (since she’s the one called Hawk’s Eye, famous for killing a lot of Ishbalans).

Where the heck is Al?

What happened with Al anyway in this episode? Well it turns out that one of the tyres of the car he’s riding with Heinkeil, Marcoh and someone is stuck in a hole. And they’re arguing who should do it and Heinkeil is blaming someone for driving badly. And in case you wondering who’s someone is… sorry. I have no clue. I forgot his name.

Van Hohenheim

Arrived at Father’s hideout, Van Hohenheim starts questioning why Father or Little Homunculus in the Flask are separating himself from seven sins of human. Van believes that the homunculi in the flask was much more fun to hang out with compared to him in front of him and when he questions Father do you want to be a human, Father’s face starts to react from Van’s question.

Last and the best part of the story

Fuhrer is back. And he’s going to fight alone against soldiers of Briggs.

My calligraphy pen *fufu*
Is shivering *fufu*
As I write my first greeting card to you
All of my passion
And my overflowing actions
Might just jut out

When I think of your smile
I want to show off my good side
Holding onto my passion
I want you to turn around and look at me

Now it’s time to write smoothly with my love
So we can be connected by my happiness
after you receive it
I’ll show you my dreams as they spin and dance
Hang in there, calligraphy pen
You’ve done well up to now
I’m quite serious

My calligraphy pen *fufu*
might be excessive *fufu*
I become discouraged
The handwriting mission
The feverish tension
Printing them is trivial

It is heavy when I leap, it is heavy when I stop
It’s like a throbbing love
Even from now on “Nice to meet you”
That one phrase accompanies me.

I am polishing this playful letter until it sparkles
I hope it reaches straight to your heart
The running ink shines until it dries
Wait, calligraphy pen
Sorry, ballpoint pen
But you will have to rest
I’m quite serious

When I think of your smile
I want to show off my good side
Holding onto my passion
I want you to turn around and look at me

Now it’s time to write smoothly with my love
So we can be connected by my happiness
after you receive it
I’ll show you my dreams as they spin and dance
Hang in there, calligraphy pen
You’ve done well up to now
I’m quite serious

K-On follows a school band consisted of Yui Hirasawa, Ritsu Tainaka, Mio Akiyama, and Tsumugi Kotobuki.

This is the 3rd time I watched an anime that has a band playing in it. The other two were Haruhi Suzumiya, and Lucky Star (although if my memory serves me right, we didn’t get to see the performance).

Although a slice-of-life type of anime, I’m enjoying every episode even though I had to go through the first episode as if it’s worst ever anime made to human kind (somehow, this is my normal reaction to any new anime).

To establish a club, you need at least four people. And that’s how these people met each other. Mio and Ritsu are childhood friends while Tsumugi was interested in joining in after she saw how cheerful Mio and Ritsu are. And Yui… well, she lied to get into the club.

The club’s name is Light Music Club.

Yui, an airhead that somehow do things to the extreme and a bummer as well. She plays on a guitar, while Ritsu on drums, Mio on bass and Tsumugi on keyboard.

At first, Yui doesn’t even know how to play guitar. She even cheated on her application form. Although things doesn’t get ugly, she undergoes a rigorous training by the cute Mio Akiyama.

Mio taught her how to read music, and teaches her how to play the guitar.

While Mio is busy teaching Yui how to play guitar, Tsumugi uses her talent to make cakes and all the delicious foods that everyone want to eat (since Yui is such a lazy arse, she used this to motivate her to study). She’s the cutest of all, IMHO.

Ritsu is the president of the “Ligh Music Club” and she’s on drums. She’s good at it and loves to play pranks on Mio. Mio blushes easily and she’s afraid to be on stage. It’s been her problem since she was a kid and Ritsu loves to show her things that make her so afraid and shivering in fear (although its just some toys).

If you are interested in something other than fantasy/action, this could be good change of pace for you.

I liked it, and right now, I just finished watching episode 7 and will be watching episode 8 this midnight.

What’s your thought on this anime?

I’ll be posting pictures soon

Hell, you won’t think sex scene is necessary at all – a pure gold of story is enough to make you sit, and watch some high school teenagers holding hand.

No explosion.

No blood spilling all over the place.

Bakemonogatari Episode 12 begins with Senjougahara and Koyomi Araragi eating together. When Koyomi want to have his first bite of the day at school, she began to say:

“We’re going to a date”

and then he dropped the food. Shen then ask Koyomi to open his mouth, “Uaa…” but instead of pulling that food into his mouth, she put it at his cheek. Nice way to begin a conversation.

“Do you have any complaints… no, any questions?”

After all that, he agreed to go on a date and which he in his heart said: “Fuck, yes!” And then he noted how this going to be a day he is going to remember.

She then drags him into a car driven by her father. Araragi questions why she does that even though they’re going on a date (her father is in front of them, driving). She then asked her why he loves her. He hesitates and saw her and her father together, which he nervously said, “Yes, I love you.”

In the car she verbally abuses him and when Araragi said her junior, Kanbaru is a bit kinky, Hitagi proceeds into talking a super-dirty thing which made him give up to think how perverted or kinky Kanbaru is.

She then proceeds to whisper to him something that would make Kanbaru looks innocent and pure girl.

But there’s one thing I want to say: watch it, you son or daughter of a gun. You’ll love every second of it. I mean it. My taste is usually right.

Screen caps of the first few minutes before a lot of other works start to bother me:

There’s no sex in it. And it’s probably the best story I ever watched. Period. Maybe there’s one or two out there can match this kind of writing. Kudos to the writer, Nisio Isin for the novel and the team behind Bakemonogatari’s anime team. Will buy the DVD when it arrives in Malaysia guaranteed.

Remember when I said I want to blog about Bakemonogatari but instead I do something else? Well, I’m back with a partial review of an anime series called “Bakemonogatari”.

Well, instead of saying it as a review, I should say this is my thought on that anime.

Bakemonogatari is an anime that tells a story about Koyomi Araragi, an ex-vampire who’s dating someone named Senjougahara Hitagi. And this Koyomi loves to save people, especially girls.

According to Wikipedia:
One day, a classmate named Hitagi Senjōgahara, who infamously never talks to anyone, falls down the stairs into Koyomi’s arms. He discovers that Hitagi weighs next to nothing, in defiance of physics. After being threatened by her, Koyomi offers his help, and introduces her to Meme Oshino, a middle-aged homeless man who helped him stop being a vampire.

It is the first time I watched an anime with dozens of “cut scenes” like this:

First time I see it being used in anime, dozens of it in each episode.

and a comical version of the character:

Koyomi Araragi, nervous mode

It’s a comedy, and the plot line isn’t very clear so you can’t really predict what’s going to happen next (sometimes I even though Koyomi gonna die in this series).

So to answer my own question… does this worth watching? Short one word answer: YES.

Read my next review on Bakemonogatari.
