My Take On D. Gray-Man Part 1

Sorry, it will hurt but I will bring comfort to you now. Please find peace Mrs. Claire - Allen Walker

D. Gray-man is an ongoing manga series written and illustrated by Katsura Hoshino. This is one of the mangas I read every week without missing any. There are various reasons for it and the first of all is…

It just a hell good story.

Warning: Spoiler Ahead.

In anything, good always win but not so in this case. The hero (Allen Walker) loses many times especially against the Noah clan and his relationship with his Master (Cross Marian) is rather interesting. You get to see this 16-year old boy with a womanizer, (bad) gambler and see his rather cruel life when Allen is with his master.

I like the bad guy too. Especially Earl and Tyki Mikk. That fat ass Earl is quite unique. Smiling all the time (except once when he was angry with his “friend”, the 14th).

The 14th, by the way, tried to kill Earl and failed. Allen Walker’s new form is like the 14th… and Earl never expected that.

A Duke, A Minister, A Mass Murderer

Amazing twist has happened as well. Earl is actually a Duke, minister for a country in Europe.  His name is Camelot. When people around him think he is the best person people can be, he secretly kills people all over the globe, making them into weapon (Akuma) and uses them as his tool.

For what? To search for one thing called Heart. This series is still ongoing and boy, even though I have read for a long time (2 years I believe) and it still hasn’t finished yet. So I can’t tell you why in this world he wants Heart. Typical bad guy “conquering the world” theme? Probably.

“Seeing you like this, you don’t look like a villain who’s turned the world against him” – Tyki Mikk
